Short term loans can be very helpful when a person find himself in a situation that catches him and his family off guard or without the cash needed to face a crisis. They may be the solution to a financial crisis that will help a person avoid selling household items or borrowing from family members to offset the financial crisis. Many companies and lending agencies offer quick funding with a variety of pay-back options. The Internet is now a growing avenue for lenders to advertise these terms so consumers can find a short term loan online to fit their circumstances and needs.

Each of us have experienced times when an emergency leaves our bank account depleted. For example, car repairs may cost more than expected or medical bills pile up and leave a family living on a very tight budget. There are also unexpected events such as the loss of a job or the loss of a loved one. Perhaps a short term loan is needed when putting a child into college and the student needs extra cash to get moved into his living quarters. A short term loan can bring in the cash needed to get through the current situation, will cost less in money and in debt stress than overdraft fees or credit card interest rates because the borrower has an opportunity to immediately pay off the loan.

The most popular of short term loans is the payday loan. These applications are easy to fill out and submit online, so the borrower can apply with several different lenders to check out their terms, interest rates and fees. With these contracts, the borrower can get an advancement on his or her paycheck from a lender. Then at the next pay period, the borrower pays back the money borrowed, plus a lending fee. The disadvantage with these contracts is that short term loans can be expensive if not promptly paid off. Therefore, the wise budgeter will make sure that he can remit the money on time.

In times of crises when there is a need for short term loans, it is important to remind ourselves of where our true help comes from. As Christians, God knows what our needs are and how to help us. The key to an untimely circumstance is to trust His answers as to what is best for us and our spiritual growth. Hard times often reflect the opportunity to grow in character and in faith. James writes, "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him" (James 1:12). A short term loan, when handled properly, can help manage the current situation and turn it into an opportunity to seek God and His wisdom.
